About The Front Yard Farm

The Front Yard Farm is “in town”, located close to Stetson University in Deland, Florida.  It is a long, slender slice of ground (approximately .27 acres, minus the house and the driveway) the house set back from the road, with the front yard being the only place sunny enough and big enough to convert to edible space.  Hence the name.

It doesn’t look like much, yet, but it will get there.  I hope.

As for me, I am an avid (and amateur) gardener who cares deeply about the earth and my fellow human beings.  I am also a foodie (although I prefer the more old fashioned term gourmand) so my motivation is equal parts environmentalism and hedonism.

Also I work at Lindley’s Nursery and Garden Center in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.  You should go there.  It’s awesome.
